RE: foam cutter
You want a CNC cutter to use once or twice? WOW!
There is a guy selling plans ($15.00) for a CNC cutter that he claims only costs about $300USD to put together. It's item #5932662216.
Hope this helps,

RE: foam cutter
Use it once. If you are anything like me you will build it cos you can. I am currently building mine (75%) and it is all home made. I have also had people telling me if I get it working they would want parts made. Could be very busy
Anyway my 2c worth.

RE: foam cutter
xplayer930, I´ve had experience with foam cutting and i can tell you that you will not use it only once or twice. I got some hardware for that at tekoa.com, the prices are not bad and you can get your money back by making parts for others. Wings, cowls, you name it. It is very simple to use and you can cut parts in a matter of minutes. Believe me, you´ll get your money back many tomes around!!!

RE: foam cutter
Hey all,
I'm getting out of CNC (no time) and want to sell my completed cutter. Currently set up as a 24" x 18" w/ span up to approx 48". I have computer running liscenced GMFC 2.X as well as a bow and power supply many parts and all supporting doccumentation. Controller is Hobby CNC type and runs 116#-in steppers on threaded stainless steel rod. In So. Cal area... would prefer not to ship. I am asking 850 and will also consider interesting trades.

This is as cheap as it gets. It is a 40" Bow. I piece of 1.0 x 2.0 wood, 2 pieces of 1/4 music wire, some lamp wire and clips and the cutting wire. Less than $10 the lot. Hang it from the ceiling and power it with an ordinary 10 amp car battery charger.

RE: foam cutter
hi,
i've got a question or three for you.
1. are the down pieces all-thread.
2. is the wire piano wire, or some guitar wire.
3. is the wire connected behind the tape measure in the photo.
4. in your post you said hang it. is that for a reason?
thanks
eric

Here's the address for Jim's fine video and explanation. Jim is a true expert in this area as well as vacuum bagging, electric power (under the tutelage of Keith Shaw), etc.
