I need to cut the wing rod shown below. I only have a Dremel with the cut off blades, or a Zona saw. The cut must be fairly accurate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
FYI. the rod is 6" long and 11/32" in dia. The angle of the cut is 6 deg. and about 2 15/16" long.

First, I have not tried to cut a carbon rod before, so I don't know how effective a zona saw would be. But if the saw can cut it, here is a suggestion.
Cut a slot with your Zona saw acrpss a 1" x 1" x 10" block of wood at the desired angle. Cut the slot about 1/2 " deep. Cut a Vee groove down the length of the wood deep enough for the rod to set just below the surface of the block. Hold the rod, or perhaps you can tack it with a couple of small drops of ca, and cut the rod.

go head and cut it, like its any thing else. well not anything, but like its aluminum. the thinner the cutting wheel the faster it cuts. deburr with 220 or 320 and sand with grains with would be parralell to rod....and dont breath that stuff either..>![X(]

I agree with Scott, build a miter jig out of a piece of wood. I can't think of an accurate way to cut it without some sort of fixture to hold everything steady.

i work as a carbon laminator, building parts with high modulas carbon's. iam also the parts trimmer..! i guess it takes some practice to trust your own hand..
