Default Carbon Fibre Rods in Contact

I am replacing the steel pushrods to the elevators of a P-51 with 3/8" carbon fibre rods. The rods are guided/supported thru fuse formers. The rods cross over one another in an "X" configuration. At that point, they come in contact. Though I've been able to reduce the friction somewhat by raising one elevator servo, they still touch.

I know that I must keep the rods from touching to avoid chafing and electrical glitches. Can someone recommend what I can use that will 1) insulate the two rods 2) resist chafing damage and 3) reduce friction?

Thanks a lot!

Jerry

Default RE: Carbon Fibre Rods in Contact

I would add 1/8" ply under one of your servos if possible to raise it up sliightly and avoid the contact if at all possible.
