RE: composite mold joining
hi, on the presumtion youre building from 2 mould halfs, wings are layed and vacumed in the mould, when set a jointing paste of epoxy resin cotton flock and a thickner are applied to the joints and both mould halfs are joined and left to set.
the fuzz is done differently, both halfs will be joined together wet!!, on one half the glass is cut flush with the mould edge, the other half is cut oversize (1cm/3cm depending on the size of fuzz) as soon as youve finished laying up join both halfs together making sure the overlap does not get trapped, apply strips of peelply(looks like glass cloth but does not stick to the resin), over the joints(as far as you can reach in the fuzz) again depending on size i use the party fun ballons(the type you can make animal shapes) insert into the fuzz and pump as much as you dare, leave to cure, when done pull the pealply off(does 2 things, soaks up excess resin and leaves a rough surface thats brill for bonding internal hardware) he presto 2 halfs joined to gether with a neat internal seam, if the 2 halves are already set then cut a glass bandage and apply wet to one half of the mould, join moulds together as above, but make sure joining areas are roughned up first
hope that helps
