Default paint over dope

I bought an older airpalne. It was from a garage sale from a former member who passed away. Most of the members agreed that the plane is fabric covered with dope and paint. What moderen day paint can I use over it that will be ok. Orange and green are not my favorite colors.

You should be able to go over the existing paint with Klass Koat epoxie paint. If you have not used this paint in the past, you will be shocked at the user friendly product. You need to clean the existilng surfaces of the plane VERY WELL, 409 etc. Follow mfg. instructions. Try a small area first, you may not be able to get all the oil out of the fabric which will cause fish eyes big time. You can always take the old stuff off and ultra coat the thing as a last resort, which is probably what you will end up doing unless you can get all the junk off the fabric. ENJOY.

Provided you can identify the type of paint, here is a compatibility chart.

Hope it helps.
