Default How to fill imperfections in plaster plug?

I made a plug from a acetate canopy. The old one yellowed and cracked. There are some imperfections in the plaster of paris plug. How do I fill them before vacuforming? I tied Bondo, but it didn't stick.

Use drywall compound (Sheetrock mud)?. Cured it sands very easily to conform to the existing contour.
