fuelproofing a foamie?
I have built a 1/4 scale gasser. It is mostly EPS and brown paper. In hindsite I wish I had not done it. It looks crappy, all the gorilla glue added up. I want to finish it up and fly it. Thing is one drop of gasoline and the foam dissolves. Is there anything fuelproof that I can use to fuelproof the firewall and not ruin the foam? Epoxy perhaps? As an aside I was thinking of lining the gas tank compartment with aluminum foil stuck down with spray contact cement. The inside of the compartment is luan. I guess I could epoxy foil to the firewall too.

I cover my foam planes with Liquid Sheeting. There is a great deal of info at my website http://www.wowplanes.com
When you arrive at the home page, click on the item called Liquid Sheet ll, then click on the words INSTRUCTIONMANUAL, then click on the VIDEOTUTORIALlink. It show how to fuel proof and paint proof a whole foam plane.

That Liquid Sheeting looks like it's pretty awesome stuff.

RE: fuelproofing a foamie?
I just finished building my latest design, a Hawker Hurricane. It is totally covered with Liquid Sheet and painted with rattle can paints. Here is a picture of how it comes out of the box, how it looks after Liquid Sheeting, and how it looks ready to fly.
Pls ignore the UC picture, I uploaded by mistake and don't know how to get rid of it.
