Composite Spitfire
Hi,
I will soon be embarking on a new project. A fully composite moulded spitfire. Sounds scary, but i reckon that if such a project can be pulled off with costs being shared by a couple of modellers, it might be worth the effort.
BTW i plan to get most of the work i.e. moulds, plugs etc professionally.
The plan is for a 60 size ship.
The problem is where to start!!! Which plans should i use to start with? i.e are there downloadable 3D plans available which i can use to cut moulds using CNC m/c's? Also a tried and tested plan is what i am after, which has been builf and flown. and i dont mind paying a bit for the plans.
I guess in a composite build project with CNC cutting etc, 2 dimensional DXF's wont do and one may need 3 views etc. Can any CAD/ CNC gurus enlighten me on this aspect and how to go about it and what to look for?
I'll keep posting the progress once the project kicks off!!
