Default Isophthalic Resin? ? ? Anyone ever use it?

"The Cadillac of polyester resins, this offers good chemical resistance along with high strength. Excellent for boat hulls."

That's what the ad says. Has anyone ever used it?
Thanks,

Default Yep

It's just "really good" polyester resin. Much better for laminating than the "Bondo" type... thinner and penetrates better.

I used a couple of gallons of this (from Fibreglast.com ) before switching to epoxy, years ago, and got good results. I just prefer epoxy, but if you're going to use polyester, that's the way to go.

Haven't found it locally, yet.

my composite book by Forbes Aird says quote "there are two kinds of polyster resin -orthophthalic or Ortho, and isophthalic or Iso. The difference between them is chemistry and price; iso is slightly more expensive, and better.
