How to fix balsa wings

I had a little problem with my Spitfire. The wings are ok but I have a little crash (about 2" x 3") close to the joning. The balsa is still there but it's cut deeply. How you guys thing I should fix it? I tought to use fiberglass...then to use resine to glue another piece of balsa on the top and sand it...What do you think?

i would just cut that out and put in a new peice, it will probably be lighter too
