1099 surface coat and post curing?

Thought I'd ask here...

Has anyone had any problems using the fibre glast 1099 surface coat in post curing? Will it stand the heat? If so, how high?

Thanks,
-Mike

Hey Mike,

What application are you using it for, making molds? If so, I apply the 1099 over the plug, let it set until almost dry (usually an hour), then start appling layers of cloth until I'm done. Never had a problem, makes a very nice mold surface.

Right, I got that part.

Thing is, I need to post cure my parts, and therefore cook my mold......so I was wondering would the surface coat be ok, or should I just use the resin and graphite?

I baked a fuselage at about 120 degrees, the molds held up fine.
