My flying buddy put two flight were put on a S-1 I salvaged out of the garbage can and repaired a couple of years ago sporting an almost new (but so poorly fitted at the factory it needs to be started with an electric starter) double thunderbolt McCoy .35. Once running, the McCoy performs OK. The compression is so poor is simply won't hand start.

10 flights today. I brought out a S-1 with a new Chinese ST G.34 running 75/25 FAI fuel. It was a screamer. That ST G.34 is a potent engine and runs very strong with no nitro.

I put in a flight at Sepulveda Basin on Saturday. I hadn't flown a Ringmaster in decades. John and Stan had their models available and there were a bunch of flyers there.

Here is an update with a few flights that were reported on forums but that were not reported to the official email address. The total is:

859!!!

Attached is a word file of the tabulations.

Thanks to all that participated. This is a statement that control line modeling is still alive and kicking!!

Next year (1st weekend in October) we will hit that GOAL of over one thousand flights in one weekend!!!!

Does that list show all the flights? I don't see the entries from the Van Nuys, CA bunch at Sepulveda Basin for Saturday and Sunday. More than a dozen were flown that I know of at the Hi Johnson Contest on a special circle.

Chris,

The Fly-A-Thon reporting has been and is a bit of a problem. Rich Grogan does the tabulation and a deadline is set so that timely feedback can be posted on the WEB but often reports are made on the various forums while not reporting to the official email address. This year I was on vacation and could not try to catch those forum reports which Rich did not receive. We want to include everyone that participates because they made the effort to join in and they deserve recognition.

Please, anyone that flew and does not find their flights recorded in the tabulation, send me an email at; [email protected] and I will update the results!!!

Next year we will try really hard to make sure that no one is left out of the tabulation!!!

Thanks for flying in the Fly-A-Thon it is all about having fun and promoting the great sport of control line modeling!!!

John Cralley
