RE: K&B 6.5 What to do with
I'm thinkin something in the stunt family, I do have an SV-11 waiting for a power plant.
I wonder how they would run on a c/f aero pipe?
I am interested in a twin.
Doesn't RSM sell a nice twin stunter? LA Heat, a couple of aero pipes.
I originally picked up these engines thinking RC Duelist to be precise but apperently they don't run well with carbs. So the duelist will remain on the shelf for now.

Mike
These were designed for use in Rat race and pylon.
They need lots of nitro and small props to get into operating rpm range.
Not enough nitro to "grow' the cylinder will lead to excessive cylinder/piston wear.
We ran these fully cowled with no cooling air allowed to enter cowl.
They burned enough fuel to be 'liquid' cooled
The RPM and HP make for a situation that is not safe for average user, Thrown prop blades and so forth.
Like cutaway said it may be usable in free flight.
Check your PMs for more info.

Myself and Mark Hughes used them in Stunt with cf tuned pipes and Bolly 11x3 3/4 props on 10% and they run fine. I had one NIB and sold it to a guy that said they were perfect for C gas FF.
Chris...
PS Here is the model I first used the T&L40/ K&B 6.5. A Smith/Werwage 40 pipe and 11x3.5 three blade was the first prop I used and then a 11.25x3.8 two blade worked well. The model weighed 59 oz with the 40.

Shorten up the exhaust duration lower compression and possibly a new disk with milder timing would do the trick.
Kind of a silly expensive way to get a PA engine going......
All though in recent past there has not been much to chose from in PA engines now we have several good ones available.

They were actually the front rotor version. About one hundred dollars less than the PA Smith/Nelson engines, RO Jett's weren't available at the time.
That model shown has a PA 61 in it now.
