    R/C to C/L Engine Conversion

I have acquired a couple of Tower Hobbies .46 Ball Bearing ABC engines.

Does anyone have any experience converting these engines to Control Line?

I could lock the carb open but would much rather have a proper venturi set up.

    Thanks,

Go over to the Stunt Hanger http://www.stunthanger.com/smf/ and log in. It's free and you will find eons of great CL stuff.

In the Open Forum you can search or just ask the question. You will get answers and/or directions to whatever you need to know. Good luck!

Contact ebay seller "shtterman", he seems to know the ins and outs and he most likely has the parts. Here is his list of venturis and carbs for sale right now (36 venturis/carbs and 25 needle valve assemblies):

Do not convert, instead how about learning new skills such as touch and goes, straight line taxi by walking the dog to the side. Walking the dog is the most fun and blows away your fellow RC'ers and that has never been possoble with the old three line systems either.

Add a mini servo and a 750mah NIMH five cell battery, a mini Rx and hang a two stick 2.4 tx backwards from your neck stick facing the airplane Your free hand can easily operate the throttle.

Except for one of my models they all have throttle control, I would make the model with throttle control either with 3-line or electronic controls. Hopefully 2.4 Ghz gets approved for competion use!

If you go to this link go down the page on the right side and you will find a PDF of the book I wrote on how to use electronic controls for throttle control and other options for CL scale, it also can be used in carrier to replace the 3-line handle. I have been flying with electronic controls for 20 years now.
