Default Searching for an AJ Fireball kit

Hello,,,,,,,,Anyone out there know where I can get an original AJ Fireball kit?I collect Jim Walker stuff and would love to have another one of these. I always thought the Fireball was one of the most beautiful designs ever. Any info would be deeply appreciated. Thanks,,,,,,,,,,Charlie

Your just a little late. Frank Macey, the keeper of Jim Walkers legacy passed away recently and as far as I know the supply of Walker memorabilia may soon dry up. A few years ago he had done a few replica kits of the Fireball for around $125.00 but these are now collectables and are seldom seen or sold.
Replicating this kit would be an expensive proposition as the block of balsa that that fuselage was made out of would set you back a small fortune to buy , if you could get on that size in anything approching decent weight and density. Plans still might be available. You might be able to get some help from the walker site.

Jim...I appreciate the info. I've already tried the site. I almost got a replica kit but passed on it wanting the original. Dumb move on my part!! The Jim Walker website is extremely informative. He was the master!! So my search will continue. Thanks again,,,,,,,,Charlie

you mean to say that you didn't check the items that still remained from the estate sale. There were still a few origional Fireballs for about @200.00. If you don't follow those leads up you may be in for a very long wait.
Dennis

Update 1/27/10

an origional is for sale on that favorite auction site cost is now at $430.00 with about a day left on it.

I have an A-J Fireball kit in the original box. It appears to be complete with the exception of thewheels. All parts, instructions, the manual, etc seem to be inclueded.

I am not an expert on this; but, this kit was been sitting in my father's closet for at least 40 years - he never got around to assembling it as he planned. It still has the original price of $6.95 marked in grease pen on the front of the box.

I can send along photos if interested.
