Default Electric system for Sig Twister

I just picked up a Sig Twister kit at Toledo and would like to use electric power. I have no experience with E-power on CL planes.
Looking for suggestions as to motor/prop/ESC selections

Thanks, Matt

I've been flying E-Power RC for years. I have lots of batteries, several ESCs and motors.
After looking through the specs on the motor, batteries and ESC of the items in the Brodak package, I have a couple motors with nearly identical specs, a spare 40 amp ESC and a few 3S 40C 3000mah packs. I also have a couple of the old E-Flite CL timers.

Thanks, Matt

Guard those little e-flite timers. They're no longer available, and they're great little timers. The Brodak times do have a great feature the e-flite doesnt have. They give you 15 seconds or so before starting after you push the start button. It lets you get to the handle. That way you can fly without having somebody else have to launch the airplane. Not the safest thing i the world, but doable.

Yeah, I have two of them and a JMP timer. I may get one of the Brodak timers since they seem really simple with pots to set time and power level. I don't care for the E-Flites having to set time every flight.
I just finished a slow combat style plane yesterday using very similar motor as Brodak's package. Need to get some calm winds to try it out. It's been blowing like crazy here last few weeks.

https://youtu.be/glb_Ku3q5cA I won the Tucson 75 mph combat event twice with this airplane

Dont know if this worked or not. A video of the combat plane can be seen here.

Here's a shot of my slow combat style I built. Wish the weather would cooperate so I could do some flying.

That will fly really good on a 3 cell. It will fly excellent on a 4 cell!

I've got it set up with a 9-4.5 and 3S 2600.
If it's too slow for me, my plan was to try an 8-6 on 4S 2600.

Finally had some decent weather! First flight was a bit sketchy due to a bit of warp I inadvertently built into the wing. Took it home and worked it a bit with the heat gun. Took it out again this past Saturday and it flew great. Speed was somewhere between a decent stunter and my old slow combat stuff. Line tension was a bit lighter than I would prefer but I doubt I can improve on it much. Lead outs are as far back as they can go and I don't like to use a whole lot of motor offset. I need to order a few new batteries as all mine this size are well used and several years old.

Congratulations Matt on the success of your new airplane. I am curious about the handle you show with your combat airplane, is it a homebuilt or some Old/new factory one? I like the looks of it.

If memory serves me correctly, that is an old Fox handle. Very comfortable and feels more natural than the old EZ-Just handles.

Put some out thrust on the motor.

Already has 3 degrees. I guess a few more wouldn't hurt too much.

I've been getting a lot of flights on my electric combat type plane. It flies very well with no bad habits. As long as I don't over control it, it maintains good line tension. I'm guessing on some of my early flights I was using too much control and it was stalling a bit causing the lines to go a bit slack.
I got talked into going nitro on my Twister and my Nobler. I still want an E power stunter, preferably a modern profile. Have to look around for something I like.

I would look up Brodak, and maybe give them a call. They have full power systems, and I am sure could give you the correct recommendation. You may go to their website and see what they offer.
