UControl People
Thank god!!! there are more "crazies" out there like me that love 1/2A stuff... I gave up on 40-60 size stuff along time ago for park flyers. Since I started flying models in 82 my heart has always been with the small stuff. So, anyway
Anyone out there that ucontrol's or 1/2a's around flint, highland, white lake, fenton in Michigan?
My oldest son is now ready to start flying his cox pt 19, and I was looking to hook up with some folks...
People in the 60's and 70's used to fly down at Belle Isle, but havent heard of that in a while. Anyhow Detroit is a pit and is really much to far to drive.

Hi Peter.
There are a bunch of us in the Flint Michigan area that fly control line in general. Me, John Paris, Dan Miles, Jimmy Morway are a few who fly regularly. We fly at Broome Park in Flint. I like flying the 1/2A stuff but mostly fly the bigger planes. Drop me a line and we can try to hook up.

OK, where was I... Oh, the Cox models. I had a PT-19 back in '87, and it flew OK on the string it came with. It did make me a bit dizzy, and didn't want to land until it ran out of gas. Are any of the plastic Cox models still flying around Flint? A few years after the PT-19, I built a Sig Buster with a .15 engine, and really liked its pull, handling, and flying qualities. I like the smaller stuff myself, yet have more of a preference for .10 to .15 models because they have such a nice pull to them (I used to fly stunt kites). The .10 and .15 sized models aren't too over bloated in size either. I don't like APC props as much as I do Grish. I'm not so much into high speeds, I like a steady cruise instead (like I would get with my Sig Buster). Perhaps it may not be such a bad idea to connect, as long as I can come up with enough cash for some gas. Meanwhile, I still need to finish the payments on that .46 Winnebego....
