Gas engine for CL?

Anyone ever run a Gas engine in a CL model?

Yes, I know that. I was flying CL in the 50's.

I actually meant the 26cc, 20cc and the 15cc that's made today.

I should have been clearer.

Why do you ask Charles?

What are you planning?

I remember something of one of the Philly Phlyers (Dan Banjock, IIRC) flying a 3x or 4x Ringmaster with a Quadra on it at the Brodak contest several times.

A gassy of 15cc or so might just pull a like a mule.

with adjustable leadouts and long long lines you might tame the beast down some. I don;t know how much

Back in the 1980's a friend was building a Bud Nosen Citabria (I think it was) with a Quadra engine for CL. I lost contact with him and have no idea if he finished and flew it.

Shucks. Too late here - and a dollar short. I saw the first post here and wanted to answer, YES, Thor .30, Hornet 60, Suoer Cyclone .61, and Madewell .49.

Right now I have designed (from my 3 "MIGs" of 1969-73 days) and working on a CL Stunter, some 650 sq. inches wing area. Have a new Evolution 60 Glow for it. Not run yet but within a week or so. Hard for me to visualize a .60 on a CL. The times just holding onto that Hornet .60 sparker many years ago, and the thought of now trying to get back to stunt, at 76, with a .60 Glow is scary. Holding on to a Gas burner of 1.2 Cu. Ins., well that is really scary! :D
