Fun Fly + Limbo + 1 month since soled
Here is what happens when you attend the Fun Fly and try Limbo with a Tower Trainer.
I soled a month ago so I am not an experienced pilot, this was my first Fun Fly and it was fun.
in my first limbo try I hit the outside pole,
heres is the picture.
And you can see the damage to the plane.
It was Fun no regrets.
This is my first crash and the first repair I am going to the plane. after 100 flights.
Remember there are planes that had crashed, and there are planes that are going to carsh.
Mine was the scond type, now it is the first type.

Cobra,
Don't worry, I know several "seasoned" fliers that have had the limbo pole reach out and grab them!!
The damage doesn't look that bad at all. If you think you had fun at a fun fly with your trainer, just wait until you move up to something a little more maneuverable.
I'm glad you are taking the crash in stride. After all, fun is why we are all in this great hobby/sport after all. Good luck in your next fun fly. BTW, great looking field!!

After investigating the wing, I said the damage is in the right wing but I hit the the pole a way from me while coming from left to right.
I wasn't even close to clearing the pole or even going under the ribbon, I was more than 1 wing span 60" away from making under the limbo LOL
Longaly,
Our field is a nice one thanks. http://www.lvrcs.com
Only problem is one side of the field is corn other side is soya bean, which makes finding downed planes a little diffucult. There are some planes laying somewhere there waiting to be found.

I was prophanging low down and a big plane hit me side on from right to left . Tore through the right wing, wrenched the fuz in half, which resulted in the bit with the engine screaming upwards into the clouds and all the other bits floated down.It was a brand new plane.
Now its repaired and happily flying again.

I have not pic of my Avistar that I used in our Funfly last month. It is reparable, but let's just say the limbo pole bit me too. I have been flying for just over 1 year and made the first two passes fine and 10' and 8'. I was low enough on the 6' pass, but too far left just like Cobra8. The plane spun 1 round landed with a thump straight down and on the wheels. The only damage was a broken LE where the pole hit. I used clear tape to reshape the LE and kept flying. I lost every event, but won a gallon of fuel because I had a plane flying up through the last event. I need to do repairs on a lot more than the LE now.

limbo is the most fun you can have with planes i think. i was limboing and a friend told me he was going to lower it and told me to try it inverted. so i did. rudder hit and dragged the rest of the plane down with it. that plane is long gone now after the wing flew off in flight. but i was just doing limbo the other day and the guys at the field told me to try hovering under it. so i did, hovered under pulled up, hovered over the bar, dropped back down and hovered under again. best flight i'v had in a long time. plane is still unharmed and flying great.

I went to that fun fly!!
Hey Cobra, I went to that fun fly (I live 4hrs away) and video taped alot of it. I think I got 1 crash on tape, I'll see if it's yours. It seemed like every time I shut off the camera someone "bought it" (those poles and orange tape claimed about 4 or 5 planes as I recall). Maybe you would like a copy?
Did ya stick around after the contest to see the big boys fly?

Hi Steve,
I would certainly like a copy of the crash video if available, that was my first crash. The count was 6 planes with pole as I know that day.
My trainer is flying again, It took 2-3 nights to fix it, the patches of Monokote gave a bad boy character to that plane.
Big boys flying was great unfortunetly I had to leave while they were flying.
The plane was excelent was it yours?

Hey, are the sweat bees always that bad there? I must
have killed about 50 of 'em and they just kept comming.
I might try to fly at your field next time I'm down there (I think
your club will allow it up to 3 times per year) or do I have to be
"a guest of a club member"?
I'll try and view the tape I made tonight.
I'll be in touch,
Steve

Not your crash
Sorry Cobra, the crash I got on tape was a purple and white plane (maybe blue and white) with a checkerboard pattern on the bottom of the wing. It was travelling from right to left, hit the orange tape.....and crashed.
I would have liked to tape the whole event but the batteries wouldn't have lasted and it's no fun watching everything through a viewfinder all day.
