retransit,
Who is the maker of that PT-19?

I picked one at the LHS thats a bit used and abused. I thought it was a Hanger-9 Ultra ARF but the firewall didnt match the instruction manual I downloaded from Horizons website.

It does match yours in the pic though!

It has an 82" WS The original owner flew it with a brushless motor, but i am going gas with it.

Had several holes in the fuse covering, so I stripped it to look for damage. turned out only the longerons (?) on the sides to give it shape when covered was loose.

Thanks,
Bill S.

That's a Great Planes PT-19, now discontinued. They used Monokote for covering. I have Saito 1.20's in mine.

I'm appalled by the DPOA statement.

Yeah, my mom used to say: You cannot trust a dummy!

PS I had a Busa cub that was hanging for years of the rafters. Well, I got it down, rebuilt the carburetor of the Quadra 42, and went to fly. The tail looked funny when landing (actually even before). It happened that 2 of the bottom stringers that go from the cockpit to the tail were broken.
I did a re hab process, and when I have time I will post pictures. This is just one. I did reinforce those stringers using pine. Not a big difference in weight, but yes in strength.

Nice looking Super Cub. Do you know if they are flown from the front seat as opposed to the rear seat on the J-3?

That is a very good repair Job !! I bet you have to do lot's of jobs form guys you fly with huh!! Real nice.. I have seen lots of guy's throw out way less damage than that.. and we could have fixed them up for our self. I just did a Hanger 9 F6F not long ago. Just my 2 cent!

I'd have to say yes, I do many repairs for others, but mostly it's for the youngsters in our club.

One of my club members is giving me a plans built 95 inch deHaviland Beaver that has some take off damage. He won't part with the 1.70 Saito radial though. LOL

Trouble is I already have an Ikon Northwest Beaver kit of the same size. Maybe I'll fix it and give it to one of the kids. Or just maybe, I'll buy one of those Seidel radials that Evolution is importing and hang it on the front.

At one my time the club I belong to had a garbarge can at the field. On more then one occasion I found a plane in it that the original owner thought wasnt repairable.

I still have a few of them flying today...

He has retracts on it, but on that flight they weren't operational.

I flew the j-3 (rear seat) the PA-11 already had the tank in the wing (front seat w/one on board), the PA-12 Super Cruiser also front seat, and Super Cub (PA-18) also, you can fly alone at the front.
