Default RC Pilot Magazine is looking for spectacular crash stories!

If you have had a noteworthy crash (and a bonus if you have pix and videos), please let us know! If we use your crash story in our magazine, there's a handsome RC Pilot (or RCU) hat in it for you (yeah, we'll spring for the RCU hat)!

Helis, jets, large scale; whatever is interesting! We probably won't run a story about your wrecked eFlite Micro P51 since we all have done that.

Michael

well there was that p-47/p-40 midair...

It was at the 2010 festival of the giants in deland, fl. It was a warbird only segment, and a p-40 rammed a p-47. I saw the p-47 take off, and I saw the little sraps of balse wood falling from the sky. (that was all that was left of the p-47) I also saw the p-40 take off, and I saw the last-ditch landing on the runway with no gear. The p- 40 was salvage able, There wasn't enough of the p-47 to tell what It once was.

Its somewhere in the video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbFimkUQ2IE

I have another from DeLand, Fl.

One of our members was talking about his state of charge on his Rx pack behind me as I was taking some video. The numbers he was talking about would be cause for concern if I were thinking of flying. Anyway, he takes off and soon after his throttle sticks wide open. Never one to miss an opportunity for some mischief, I started to video the flight. He is doing loops, rolls, etc. on this anemic Rx pack and sure enough, the batterry runs out of electrons before the tank runs out of fuel. It's on YouTube!

Hey Michael,

Here's a link to a video I shot at the 2006 Northern Alliance Military Fly-in in Owatonna Minnesota. I've got all the original footage and did the edit for Jeff and Merlin. It's one of the more spectacular crash sequences I've shot and I've shot bunches!
