Ijust finished the pre-covering assembly & CG test. Igotta laugh.

Before the tumble the necessitated fixing the LT was configured with a bolt down wing, dual aileron servos and a tail-dragger. With an OS46 FXmounted it required 11.5 oz of lead, dual AA battery packs (5 oz.) and a 2.5 oz Higley heavy hubfor a total of 19 oz of weight to balance.

During the reconstruction:

[*]it was reconfigured to a tri-cycle landing gear requiring relocating the rudder servo and a new nose gear control rod[*]the fin & stab were rebuilt using kit-instruction techniques (I used them for practice sheeting 3/16" sticks with 1/16" sheeting for an Extra 300S build)[*]wings were clipped 1 wing rib[*]previously installed extra reinforcement stuff was removed[*]the firewall was replaced as the original has had 3 different engines mounted (Swiss cheese clone)[*]new motor mounts - original broke during it's fall from grace[*]cowl cheeks replaced[*]a new tank tray was installed[*]throttle servo relocated as the motor went from 90 degree rotation to the right back to vertical[*]Dubro nylon pinned hinges replaced with CAhinges.[/list]The middle CG(not the newbie nose heavy nor the expert tail biased) the plane balances nicely without any battery mounted.

Guess that there is a price to bashing - 19 oz. of added weight.

Even with the clipped wing, with the weight loss this should be fun to fly like the flat bottom high wing trainer that it is!

Gonna cover it with Ultracote bright yellow then trim the top with black Ultracote starburst scheme of the Cub. I'm still thinking about using Ultracote Chrome for the windows rather than black as in the attached images.
