middle stick
I would like to ask if this plane was indeed called middle stick. it was build by my late father around 1985. i would like to restore it to flight condition while waiting for some wing cores of another plane to arrive. if someone recognizes this bird, what size of engine did it used to have?

RE: middle stick
nice. at least i will have something to expect now john. The only problem is that it does not need recovering. basically it needs scrapping and building a new one... according to my mother it was build around 1976 to 1978 not 1985. I started stripping the plane from its time worn cover and i had a disturbing suprice. All of the plane was soaked in a yellowish sticky, oily wet substance. I dont know if it is fuel from the old days, water, chemicals or even a special kind of mold that attacks balsa hehehe.. i dont know. it was a mess. so i decided to start taking notes , marking outlines and shapes on a cardboard paper while i was dissasebling the plane tottaly! Its easier to build a new one (i have to replace EVERYTHING anyway on the old) and thats what i started to do. the cores of the other build arrive in 4 days according to the maker so i got 4 days to finish the fuselage . Here are the pics of the fuse soaked/damaged by that sticky/oily substance:

RE: middle stick
the formers were made out of a 3mm balsa and 1 mm ply sandwich so i decided to go exactly that route! in a long afternoon/night i have cut most of the formers, cut the fuse floor and started assembling on it. i layed the fuse floor flat on my board and tack glue it on. Here are the pics of the assembly so far . I even found the tx that he used to fly the plane . an old monster long forgotten by humanity
