I just got an ARF trainer (.40 size) that I want to complete and give to grandson. Has stripes of colored tape on wings, but G and I want different colors. Some tape comes off easily, but some is really stuck. What's the best way to remove what looks like vinyl tape stripes?

Try using a heat gun. Don't over do it or it could make it worse, just enough to loosen up an edge so you can begin to peel it off. Sometimes a little solvent like acetone or laquer thinner will help. Test first on an area that won't show for compatibility.

The heat will likely shrink the covering and give you wrinkles. I'd try the solvents first.
