Wing tips J-3 balsa trainer cub.
I have a 3 channel cub that I converted to electric.
It had rounded wing tips, 48 inch. Had an ooops and the tips broke off clean.
I sanded the end spars and covered them, now its a 46 span. Flat tips
How might this fly different?
Thanks.

It will look ugly! Learning to do a proper repair after an "opps" is part of of the learning experience. Even if the rebuilt tips are less than perfect you will learn from it and each repair will get better and better as you go on and soon you will comfortable doing all kind of repairs, modifications, customizing and who knows you may even be able to build a kit. ARF repairs are a good learning tool if you just go for it. nothing to loose and a lot to learn. Good luck.

It looks fine, there just flat tips now and not up swept. My first stick kit was a Carl Goldberg Eagle 63 that I built and covered at age 12.
Sold it, and am here 25 years later, self taught flyer who is thrilled.
You can see the Cub on the beginners page (J-3 identify).
