Default Help Identify the maker of this plane


Can anyone tell for sure.... who makes this plane. I am told it is a Laser.

It looks like a Midwest Extra 300 to me - a few more photos of the engine compartment and the interior might help to confirm...

If for sure isn't a Midwest Extra,, the Cowl, Canopy and landing gear are all wrong,,
There's a pic the midwest kit in my gallery,, I built three of them over the years


Maybe a Lanier,, they were one of the first to have removable canopy hatches like that.

Hey gbfan,

It looks like a Laser to me as well, except the cowl as you pointed out. The wings appear to plug in like my 1/3 scale Lanier Laser but the hatch is not the same. On my Laser, the top hatch goes all the way to the former that the cowl attaches to. Also, the ailerons on my Laser are considerably larger than those in your picture.

You know something? The more I look at the picture, the more the wing appears to be straight along the leading edge. It may just be the camera angle. If it is straight, then it is an Edge 540 which also has the same small cockpit as the laser does.
