A lovely airplane, it looked like a pretty capable flyer. Repairable?

Yes. Now a few days has passed the owner did tell me he intends to get it back together again. Would be shame not to see it fly again.

What caused the crash? I suspect the car driving under it might have distracted the pilot?

Yeah...that's what he said to me afterwards. The first car was given the OK to drive through but the second wasn't. He was distracted and the model stalled and went in. Shame.

That's really tragic.

If that happened here in the US there would be some serious butt chewing.

Very nice flying airplane, a little fast perhaps (at least in the beginning of the video) but thats the nature of a scale model airplane I guess. It looks to me that the car driving past relatively close to the flying path/field created a disruption to the pilot in a critical slow flight (as mentioned), I suspect that the incident would not have happened if the pilot had not been disturbed by that car which would pose a safety alert in my mind at least in that moment (again as mentioned). A rebuild would still be a happy ending, I hope that happens.
