That would really hurt after 100s of hours of work.

That was no ARF!

Cool video

Was that at the MCRC Field in Imlaystown? I alway wonder why people hit that tree at that field. They have a huge runway and large approaches on both ends (flew there for 5+years before moving to Chicago). If you walk down to that tree you really get a sense for how far away it is. The other problem is that there is a lake on the other side of the trees. I use to fly over it too until I walked down there one day then I started making my turns in front of the trees because of all the room. There use to be an opening in that area that guys use to knife edge thru for fun. The trees are TALL which gives the illusion of being closer that they are versus the pine trees at the other end.

Hello rsallen13, Yep, It was the Warbirds over NJ meet in 2003. You're right about the distance to that tree also, I had the camera pretty well zoomed in. I felt really bad because I had heard someone say that he has been flying that P-51 for over 12 years.

They put on a couple of great shows. The Giant Scale event on Memorial Day weekend and Warbirds Event in September. Great food, Great Field, Great Flying and Lots of spectators. I really like the Giant Scale event. Two days of flying (three if your in the working party on Friday) the traditional Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese for Breakfast, Warren's wife's cake, and one of the best fields in the Northeast and NO LANDING FEES!!!!!!!. One day I'll get back out there.

If you go to the MCRCS Website in the pictures section, Opening Day 1999, I'm the guy with the striped shirt in the Kitchen Crew Picture.
