scracth d/f trainer meets an end
after talking to a friend and coming up with this idea I threw together this d/f trainer witha byron fan and os 77. It used another friend's Edge 540 wings and just did a box type trainer fuse that enclosed the fan and equipment. Is used lite ply side in typical trainer consruction. First flight was to tail heavy and required minor repair. THe plane only balaced corectly about 2-3in from the le at the root. Whell on second attempt all was great. the fan combo propelled the 11lb plane at good speeds and mild aerobatics were do'able. I thought a had a good plane.
three flight later that day...............switch, battery failure,or interferace.............the plane on final and beging to flair throttles up, pitched up, and rolled in.
Figures, It it all ironed out and the airframe is toast........oh well.[:-]
