Default Origin of the word SMITHEREENS

This was emailed to me from a buddy over the weekend. He believes it was a Great Planes Super Sportster 1.20 kit. Tail broke off in flight...ouch.

Looks amost exactly like the debris field from 2 weekends ago where one of the guys augered in inverted at 3/4 throttle with his .60 GP Extra -- hit so hard it threw one of the wheels off of the aluminum landing gear. We never found the wheel.
