Default High Winds+low wing loading=

I was flying my "pizza box" the other day in winds that were a little too strong. The wind can make this plane fun because it allows me to hover and do nearly vertical landings. Well, the winds were getting too strong, so I decided to land and pack it up for the day. My landing was pretty rough, and I wanted to end on a good one, so I made the mistake of making one more go around. I did a high speed pass down the airstrip, and when I went past a gap between two buildings, the direct crosswind caught my plane and put it up on knifes edge. Worse than that, it was now heading right for a tree. I had to put it almost on knifes edge in the other direction to miss the tree. Unfortunately, this plane doesn't fly very well with the wings perpenicular to the ground, and by this time, I had run out of altitude. Here's the result...

Deadstick? I don't know how yours performed, by mine had the glide ratio of a rock without the engine. I needed alot of altitude to make it back to the field.

Hey Dioncuda,
Mine is totalled. It would be less work to carve out a new one than to glue the old one back together. What is yours made out of and where can I get some? The way yours is built it looks like a quicker, easier build. It also seems more durable. Thanks,
Nick

It's probably made out of corroplast - check out www.spadtothebone.com for more details. I'm building my first spad after I crashed my balsa trainer and decided at the last minute NOT to jump off a big building.

FYI,

There is a guy selling coroplast PBF kits on e-bay complete with pushrods, horns, etc for something like $20 +shipping.

Something like this:
