u-can-do survives a midair
All hail dual elevator servos! They are the only reason my ucd survived a midair yesterday. I got in the way of a buddy-boxed trainer which removed one elevator half complete, the bottom half of the rudder and the part of the fuse attached to the tail gear.
My damage: tailfeathers, gluable fuse damage, two servo gear sets, various control horns and pushrods.
His damage: minor tear in the wing LE covering and a crack (not a gash!!) in the D-tube sheeting. No holes or splinters. Rubber band mounted wing was offcenter when he landed, plastic bolt wing might have ruined the plane.
It was like a truck vs. Civic, except both planes landed without incident. U can do flew fine!
No pics but I saw a club member snap some, maybe he's on here- it's not much to look at anyway considering.
