A buddy of mine had crashed two of his electric planes at the field already one morning. Then he decided to hand launch his Spirit 100 sailplane that also had an electric motor mounted in the nose. The front end of the fuselage literally exploded about 12 feet off of the ground. it was an incredible sight. I haven't seen anything like it before or since. We all stood there just awed by what we saw. Then I piped up and said, "I think that you've reached your limit for today".

I had that happen with a foamy Inversa 3D plane. It was a hand launched one, I held it up, hit the throttle, and just as I tossed it, the entire nose blew off in a cloud of foam. It was great.

I usually just stick with the line from the Pee Wee Herman movie, when he crashed while doing stunts on his bicycle - "I meant to do that".
