Kadet Torpedo
This happend just a week ago when i was flying my Sig Kadet LT-25. I know its not a stunt plane but i was having fun. so i climbed waaaaay up around 600 feet and put it straight down into a dive and pulled full up elevator... the wing broke loose and for the next 500 feet it was a torpedo at full throttle lol. but then again the day before i hit a hurdle when landing ina football field so go figure. but i gotta say that was one cool looking crash, and my engine works way better than before after both crashes.

Hmmm, running the engine full throttle to impact . The habit of not chopping the throttle before impact will quickly become very costly. Just about as costly as having that missle land on someones car or house which are probably close by if you are flying out of a school football field. [sm=frown.gif]

Good job fly nitro rc.
Don't listen to pinheads. My Kadet did that years ago. The rubber bands let
loose. Once realized what's next, I too pulled full throttle to intensify the crash.
And why not? At that point, what's to save so might as well enjoy a good
crash...a last moment of Gomez Addams fun.

Dudes - lighten up! [X(]
The guy had a bad deal going, and made it into fun.
Good job
I usually kill my engine 'cause I am too cheap to fry it, but I admire the "take no prisoners" attitude!

Fun??? Fun???
turning your airplane that can already be deadly into an out of control missle is fun????
And we wonder why the insurance companies raise their rates.....and flying fields are being closed

RE: Kadet Torpedo
The coolest crash I ever saw with a Kadet was when a guy at our field was in the habit of "re-cycling" his rubber bands. He started doing aerobatics with it and pulled hard elevator from a dive. Some of the rubber bands popped and his plane looped around to the top of the wing. Now he's trying to fly it with a backwards-upside-down wing with no aileron control. Controlled crash, sort of...
Lesson learned - rubber bands are cheap, flying days are rare. If a box of 100 rubber bands cost $1.99, you use 4 bands per flying day, that's half a year worth of weekend flying. Or you could spend $2.49 on a wing bolt conversion for your rubber banded airplane

Maybe the dude was out in the middle of nowhere. Admittedly, when I was out in the sticks or when the plane was obviously not a threat to anyone, I've let a few auger in.......

RE: Kadet Torpedo
You are NOT supposed to recycle bands???????? [X(][X(]
I have done that so many times (and learned my lesson more than once) that I finally just removed them all, and replaced them with bolts...
Now I just have to remember to torque them down tight. Tried once to take off without tightening them when the wing came off... luckily I was still on the ground so the plane survived.

That plane was coming down regardless of throttle - ever seen a "hotliner"? Probably(definitely) a lot faster - and no engine!
So would that be a "Korpedo"? You say the engine ran "better"?!?!? I wish the engines I've planted did! Actually, some of them never ran again... Whats your secret?
Rubberbands! [:'(]
