P-47 and P-39 Videos
Not sure if these really count as crash videos. First on is of our Nosen P-47 making a belly landing due to a retract malfunction. About 1 minute long, 5.7 meg

Next I have the second flight of our P-39 1/5th scale. We had some noise issues. On the second circuit of the field (at about 2 o'clock) the plane takes a nose dip. It's hard to see, but you will notice a sharp pull up then a left hand turn. Same thing happens on the next pass, but lower and sharper pull up. Now we set up the landing, at about 10-11 o'clock (6 feet off the ground) we have another hit (nose down), just for an instant. Was able to pull out but hit hard enough to knock oue gear out. Actually, on the taxi out to the runway the gear starts to retract (we thought at the time it was just one gear that couldn't take the side load. On closer examination of the tape we noticed that the flaps also dropped for a moment. We have since put another radio in the 39 but have not flown it again. About 3 minutes long, 30 Meg

RE: P-47 and P-39 Videos
^ We have been plagued with issues on this plane. We have a UPx valve to operate the inner gear doors (can't remember what # UP valve it is. It's the one that leaves the doors down when the gear is down). We always seem to get one door that closes before the gear gets up on that side. On this flight it jammed. This issue was "addressed" in a couple of mags. The thought was that the pressure drop through the value (because of the small orifices) keeps the larger gear from moving quickly and smoothly up. If one gear hesitates a little, the valve triggers the inner door too soon. It sure seems like that is the case to me. I've done some interesting gear door work on smaller models (rhom air gear) that worked great, but this one often has me scratching my head. I'd like to try one of the "high flow" valves once to see how the mains work with that. I think BVM and Robart have them... This is nothing against the UPx valves... I'm just wondering if it's possible to get them to work on larger sized cylinders. Anyone else have comments on that?

You would not believe . But when I assembled a gear I had a little balsa dust get into the air line and blocked the air valve. Make sure you block all line while you are working on the plane you never no what you will get in a line!!!!!!!!!
Nice landing good thing for grass!
