Don't bomb me off the board, this is sort of related.
Some of you put together really nice videos, with titles, sound effects, music and such.
Is it hard to do?

We just got a decent DV camera, and I'm kind of interested in learning how to make vids like that.
What programs you guys using to do this?
Is it woefully time consuming?

Yup,

Pinnacle Studio 9. It comes with hardware to hook Fire-Wire to a PCI slot. It is easy to use, but there is a steep learning curve. Allows you to dub music from cds and burn to dvd. I think it's less than $200.

However, if your computer is less than 2.3 GHz forget it. It needs alot of power to run. I bought a faster computer for that very reason. An extra HDD is helpful too, unless you delete the rendered video files every time.
