Default Midair... the 'after' pics...

How and when NOT to do it...

At a contest... the week before the Nats... Sunday morning... both pilots had already won and were flying the next round anyway...

Met headon at the 175 meter line... both planes looked about the same after....

It doesn't look like there was much to salvage what a shame.

Was that the mid-air with Mike Siddall?

Default New plane --

Check the avatar - That's the Elan... instantly moved from backup to primary as the EMC's pieces rained down... <g>

Flew the Nats and 4 more contests with the Elan after the mishap... the show must go on...

For next season the choice is narrowed down to either a Piedmont Models FOCUS or a ZIMPRO Viper 202. Still chewing on that one...

We had a mid air a couple of weeks ago. Two G202 tangled the 60 size exploded and 1/4 scale was able to land with the remains of the 60 stuck in the wing and fuse very scary he did a good job getting it down.

Default What it WASN'T !!!

At least, Rick, it wasn't some kind of structural, pieces-falling-off-in-flight thing....at least not at first....

Very, Very sad to see....what a Pretty airplane it was!!!

Default Introducing the Builder of the Model...

You're right, Bob - our plane certainly had no structural problems -- both planes looked about the same... what we could find of them anyway... after this one.

At least it died with its boots on -- and a winner again!
