I'm wondering if the second hard pullup didn't weaken the wing center joint and the only thing that was holding the wing was the strut. Airspeed was there so either that or pilot error on the right stick started the roll. Trim may have also been way off since at takeoff it appears it wanted to roll right to begin with and he may have been trimming it the wrong way which did no good since the ailerons were reversed

It was doing fine, straight and level....then it went down and then started
spinning....it almost looked like the pilot stuffed it....rather than the ailerons
reversed.

Sorry to hear another Baby Bear went in. I always check my ailerons before every flight, as well as everything else. My oldest son once got his ailerons reversed, but was quick minded enough to go ahead and proceed through the entire flight without making a correction. I guess that's why he and his yonger brother always beat me a video games! Rebuild it and fly it again...and check the ailerons before flight. Good luck.

I have to agree with you on that. It is flying pretty level considering the crosswind then it just starts rolling. It does almost 2 rolls with no indication of input to counter them. No aileron reversing here, he just augered it in...a perfectly good Cub. Made a nice video though!

Level flight, full throttle dive followed by violent rolls.....

I'd say the aircraft reached VNE and something let go causeing asymetrical drag.

Great video! I loved the added sound effects. I heard nobody complaining about reversed controls during the flight though. Looked like he just lost it(dumb thumbed) to me, and it didn't seem like he even throttled it back after the loss of control. My guess is when it porpose dived down he had to much throw in the elevator when trying to correct it, and it snapped. The result was turning a good Plane to pencil shavings!

I also wanted to add that if you watch the slow motion portion of the video you will notice that the plane snaps just as he reaches the bottom of the dive, and tries to pull up. You will see the Plane coming out of the dive for a split second before it snaps, and rolls. It had nothing to do with aileron inputs. Also givin the fact that the dive put him at a very low attitude, it offered him little time to react by backing off the throttle, and switching to low rates if he was indeed flying on high rates. This is just my opinion, but from the video it does seem obvious that the problem was not with the ailerons.
