For those of you interested, a CapX will not take a full power blender.

RE: CapX Wing Failure Video
John had two awesome quotes from that video.
"Drew, Do you need a lot of trim to do that stuff?"
And
"Wind er up! Wind er up, WIND ER UP!"
Too bad we cant post the full length non edited video...

Oh man, how do you fly with this guy coaching you? I have never heard anyone say "DO IT!" so many times in a row. I would have to muzzle that guy! Your coach sounds like he has a hyperactive mouth! I thought the oompa loompa sound just before commanding "Wind 'er up!" twice. Hmm.

I guess Different Strokes huh? I am an intermediat/advanced flyer, and I still appreciate my mentor at my side when trying something new or difficult. He rarely coaches me into a manouver that hasn't been tried before on a plane. Too bad this one cost him the aircraft. I seem to be able to overstress my airframes without his help. (See my posts on the Tamecat and Shrike in this forum.)

Speaking as verte's coach, Verte needs that style coaching. He is a little slow, and hard of hearing.

You know, after watching it in slo-mo....it appears that the aileron departed the wing entirely.......perhaps a sympton of flutter? It's possible it blew so fast you never heard it over the engine.
Just a thought,

RE: CapX Wing Failure Video
that was my thought as well....it looked to me like the wing let go even before he tried to put it in a blender....
....not that it matters all that much....it was still cool as hell!
