Default funtana crashed

Hey guys today I crashed my funtana it was a very stupid thing I forgot to change the model on my radio so imagine all the servos were moving in the wrong direction, and I forgot to check the radio before the take off, then I put the plane on the runway and I took off, in the moment that the plane took off the plane made some rolls and it crashed, here are some pics and all the crash was filmed so I will post you the video too.

I know one of these days I'll probably do the same thing. A good Idea for manufacutres would be to have an audible beep that would remind us to confirm the correct model every time the radio is turned on or something along those lines.

I think it's one of those things you only do once & it's unfortunate that it had to happen to such a nice plane.
I am pretty new to this hobby & did the exact same thing to mine, fortunately it only cost me 40 bucks because it was an electric profile plane.
I am ultra peranoid on my glow planes now.

Thanks for sharing your story, there's a pretty good chance that story's like this are saving planes because it makes the readers think.

A guy at our field forgot to change his model on his radio and got a handful of prop when it went full speed. He tried to pinch the fuel line but that didn't work so he reached through the prop to grab the throttle linkage. He didn't have any fingers left to grab it. It was a giant scale plane that did it. He got his 3 fingers reattached but has limited use on 2 and none in one. Pay attention!

Thats why it's important to get into a habit of range checking every time, it's easy to do and cheaper that the alternatives....bummer.

Bengi,

I think you said you had a video of the crash. Could we see it?
That's good that you're up and flying again. The funtana is a good plane!

Thanks a lot!

Glad to hear you rebuilt it and it's once more flying proudly! Those are Great planes! I have one myself, also powered with an OS Surpass 120 W/Pump. I gat into the habit of doing a "walk around" just like a real plane. I knpw it sound tedious, but I haven't lost a plane yet due to mechanical failure...

(Knock on wood!)

I made a habit of checking all of the control surfaces before take off as I run up my engine.

Yeah...i definatly check everything before even starting the plane...a guy at my feild started his plane up....wrong model...throttle reversed....thank god for having the plane on a tether and not just holding it...cause all you here is...blip-BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH ... then a faint "holy ****" I was waiting for the sound of flesh in a blade...i was actually preparing for it and already moving towards my phone....

After that scare...i definatly check the throttle and since im there...all the other surfaces!
