If that was accidental, WHEW! If it was a planned stunt, it was STUPID! I find it hard to believe they didn't see each other, HEAD ON!

They may well have been on a true collision course, but I'm sure that whichever it was, it was carefully staged.

I like the diagram, but look very closely at the video, their airstreams, illustrated nicely by their smoke, seem to collide and there is a lot of turbulence in one very small area there....Looks close to me...crazy....

My guess is not planned. After the close call, it appears to me that they kinda meander off to the side while they search for the defibrillator. Im not convinced they were head on either as they are both facing the camera as they come together. Maybe a link-up maneuver about to go bad. Whatever it was, it appears that they both did exactly the only and correct maneuver to avoid the crash.

OK, so Im changing my story. Watched it again with the sound actually on this time. Not sure if its the announcer or one of the pilots but it sounds like someone actually calls the maneuver. Not in English though so Im not sure what was said.

Actually, they both broke in the same direction cause thats what your taught...if you need to turn to avoid something, everyone knows the turn the same way, it makes sure that situations like that dont turn worse...
