Default Stupid tree...

A friend of mine talked me into building a diamond dust, and I love it. I had a blast with a 46FX, and then upgraded to a 50SX with maccs muffler after Santa was kind. Well, first flight with the new engine setup (after a tank on the ground), I hit a stupid tree. Oh well, we bulked ordered some carbon rods, light ply, and 1/16 sheeting, so we're gonna make another half dozen or so....just in case...

After....

As the one picture shows, we had a good day all in all

The plane was wide open when it hit...made a pretty good sound, and left a pile of parts at the base of the trees...

That tree was doing its civic duty removing such a hidious color (top side) from the sky! Now the avistar that is just a cryin shame. Get the chainsaw out! In fact send a message to the whole treeline.[sm=bananahead.gif]

All in fun Sorry to hear about the dust.

There is a Russian Olive Tree right in back of my house that is named KILLER and that has grabbed three of my RC planes. Recently it got my Slow Poke-40. See attached photo. At the time I was chasing a flockk of pesty pigeons that live in one of our barns and cap all over everything in there. I usually thin them out with my .17 HMR, but they just keep on propagating. Two years ago it got my Hangar-9 Ultrastik, right when I was playing with the CROW function. It wasn't damaged too bad, but I had at least 50 semi-ripe olives imbedded in the tight wing. Five years ago it got a friend's BTE Flyin' King.

Double that statement. The best friend to the treeline----CHAINSAW-----. I feel for your loss.

So the trees and I have declared open war at this point. This was slightly closer to the center of the runway, and hit many trees, not just one. In fact, I could follow it on in arc through the trees. This was an old plane that was falling apart, but still not something I wanted to smash []...oh well, it was still a pretty spectacular crash....
