Default Crashed Cub

Stalled out my goldberg piper cub yesterday about 10 feet off the ground on take-off and did a nice cartwheel. Took only one day to have it all repaired and now it's ready for more action!

When something tells you to bring your camera to the flying field, Stay Home!

Real reason for the crash; I found out my little pilot didn't even have a pilots license! The way he was dressed seemed to me that he knew what he was doing when he asked if he could take my cub up for a test run.

before and after pics from yesterday.....and also the culprit.

That pilot's got kinda a vacant stare, better do a drug screen on him.

Pilots a nut job - he's still wearing the suit the tailor made for him with measurement marks

Judging by the first pic he's sitting in the passenger seat as well ?

Buying a model airplane: 200$

Renewing your club membership: 30$

Telling people that a doll crashed your model airplane:...priceless

Sorry, couldn't resist!

My theory:
He was one of those North West Pilots who was fired for FUI. He bought bogus Social Security card at the local migrant workers camp and picked up a job as a pilot instructor... Looks like he couldn't put the bottle down once again. Just look at his eyes, he has that "look" you see on Cops when the drunk wanders what he got pulled over for.

He came back the next day and asked if he could try it again. He said he can see better with his glasses on.

Hahahaha. I noticed he changed his clothes too. The crash must have made him soil his other gear.

Ouch Dan,... Glad to hear you have things repaired and are ready for action again. Maybe it was the left cylendar, ... looks like the piston blew out the head.

Next time you're in PA, we'll have to meet up and drag your son out to take his first flights with his....

Rob,

Sounds good. He can't wait to get it up. That 61 super tigre you stuck on it will get it airborne in no time at all.

I repaired my cub the next day and flew it 2 times after that. I'm lucky there was no tail or wing damage from the cartwheel.

Bet you can't wait to get your Corsair done and flying. You're doing a great job on it.

Never, Never, Never, allow a guy dressed in a lime green jacket fly your aircraft. His bad taste in clothing should have been an immediate warning sign...LOL! That other aircraft looks like 'Ol Buzz flew it to Infinity and Back!

I'm hoping to fly my hog bipe this weekend if the weather gets better. It's been very cold and windy for the south for May here. Feels like someone moved us up near say Ohio or somewhere. I'm ready for some better flying weather.

Yes I know what you mean, been wet and windy here too. I have a swap meet super sportster 60 size ready to be maidened and a miss martha that I just picked up and got ready to fly tonight. It has an Irving 40 with some sort of loud pipe on it and I think is a hot rod. I can fly at my house but have to take off between trees and over water so I don't like to start out with new planes there. Don't like turning them into submarines in case an engine out on take off. And please let me know about the Astro Hog flight when it happens. I can't wait to have mine built!

I live by a rule and have never made an exception. If a pilot in any of my planes crashes a plane,,,,he's history. I never reuse a pilot. Bad mojo man. Get rid of him!!!
