Default Spin to "Bag o Balsa"

Attached is the result of me trying to do flat spins. Once in a steady state spin I was adding power and neutralizing aileron. Anyway, I got too close to the ground and was unable to recover. The servo and reciever check good and the engine received little damage. The plane has too many large plastic parts that I cannot fix or replace. Total loss.... Oh well......[:@]

It is very easy to lose your line of site of the horizon when watching your plane spinning.Sorry about your mishap.Ain't flat spins a kick in the pants though?

SLFlt,

Sorry for your loss man, I feel your pain.[&o] I just lost my 40 size Kaos with a YS53 four stroke and the largest piece left was the outside third of my left wing.

There are an aweful lot of big pieces in the photo's. Are you sure you can't put it back together?

Fly safe and have fun!!

hrrcflyer,

Naaaah. Don't want to fix it. It's an opportunity, not a loss! (New airplane!).

That was a very nice looking plane. I'm sorry that happened to you, don't be too hard on yourself... must of us I'm sure have misjudged flying something and then Wham! We sometimes have to crash, to become better flyers. What plane was that? A SIG?

He's right, Look at the bright side. My wife supports me in this hobby, so there isn't a problem of me getting any airplane I want. If that crashed airplane was mine, and if she wasn't so supportive... she wouldn't argue that I didn't need another airplane.

Happy Shopping my friend!

I had the blue Ultra Sport ARF that I lost from not being able to recover from a stall. Your right, there is not much you can fix since the plane is 90% foam board.

And you have a tail to glue to the hobby room wall to remember how much fun you had with this bird.

3D,

I purchased the Hangar 9 Ultra Stick (.40 size). I have flown many Hangar 9 products as well as the .60 size stick. They make a well built airplane with well-written plans. I have the wing completed and aim to be making the first flights this Monday (10/15). I am using the OS .40 AX from the Ultra Sport along with the radio components. Press on I say....

The os .46 AX is a nice engine, I have a couple and love them. Have fun with the new plane.
