Hi all, here are a couple of sad pics of the demise of a really nice Stuka. Just couldn't pull out in time.

Cheers,
Fearless.

What a sad loss, but the pictures are unbelievable, you could always say it was shot down by an allied P-51, thereby making you blameless. Build another, too great a plane not to rebuild.

Darn Spitfires... Next time I'll have to give you a couple of 109's for fighter cover! I'm glad you survived, I'll let "Fat Ball" know that you are up for a 2nd Class Wound Badge. If you do that too many times, then I think they will send you to the Russian Front. lol Sorry for your loss man... that was a very nice Warbird. I hope you could have salvaged some of those expensive parts and Hardware? [&o]

Wotcha Fearless!
really sorry to hear about that - I echo the earlier comments, great plane, amazing pix.
Did you repaint it since the static shot as the crash pic seems to show a Condor Legion ruddr marking?[]

cheers
Rick

Please tell me those are captured pics from video..and you are gonna post it later! wow! that is a hard hit. If I remember correctly the full scale stuka pilots had a bad habit of doing just what you did, they would get target fixation, so when they released the bombs I believe the plane would automatically pull back the stick ..saving the pilot from screwing up. Also I think they pulled so many G's when the plane pulled up that many of the pilots would black out a few seconds , then awake to find themselves flying basically asleep !..not my idea of fun...

I am going to guess the picture of the intact Stuka is not the same one that gets destroyed or it was repainted/covered. Also you have no notation of ownership of either model. Either way as you say it was presumibly a nice plane.

Shame to see the Stuka go in, hope there is another on the way.

Geez, it looks dry over there, how long since it rained properly?

Hi all, Whoops!!! I've posted the wrong pic from my album. Here is the Stuka involved in this depressing "prang",(aussie speak for "crash"). My club, the Strathalbyn Model Aircraft Club, here in Adelaide,Australia, hosted a "Scale Society" day,and the Stuka was owned by one of their members. I don't know what powered her,but I know it was a gas engine. A more lovely looking warbird would be hard to find. I believe the owner,(now get out the tissues guys),had just sold her for around $1500.00 aussie sheckels, and was having one last fly.

Cheers,
Fearless

This just goes to show; you never say things like, "just one more flight, then I'm done..." *SPLAT*

Reminds me of a story I heard recently about the casino tycoon Steve Wynn who sold an original Picasso for $139 million and while making a post-sale presentation poked a hole in it with his elbow. OOPS!
