Perhaps taking it to a shop and getting it welded with an aluminum welder (I'm sure there is a technical name for that type of welding, but it escapes me).

JB Weld will work AND works well.

THOROUGHLY clean the area AND parts TWICE using acetone and clean cloths EACH TIME.

Now apply the JB Weld (the regular, not the quick stuff) and let dry.

I have a couple of mufflers (and engines ) repaired with JB Weld and they hold up very well. The key to success is making sure the area is thoroughly clean.

Would they replace the muffler even if I crashed the plane it was in??

Thanks Dan

Talk about synergy...

A guy named Dan, at my airfield in Wisconsin, lost a pipe on his pitts muffler Saturday as well. He was lucky, I saw it come off. It was at the end of the short grass, and I went out and managed to find it... he said he'd try to Tig it back on...
