Carl goldberg Eaglet down (NOW WITH PICTURES and a VIDEO!)
Alright.. so I brought the Goldberg up to show my buddy the plane flyin cause he wanted to see it fly. had it up for about 8 minutes decided to land.. all going PERFECT... so i come in for my final approach over some trees.. got going pretty slow and then DEADSTICK!? WORST TIMING EVER. I've handled about 30 deadsticks perfect...but this time i had almost no airspeed and was pretty low, so i applied full up elevator and the plane did almost nothing. so at this point i was saying some 4 letter words and the plane clipped some leaves from the trees and then i thoguht i saved it and it was about a foot from the ground almost level but what i DIDN'T know is thta the ground DROPPED about 10 feet at that point.. about a 5 foot valley in about 10000 feet of flatland. DANG IT. so i watched it disapper and than we heard CRACK! so we ran over to the plane and surprisingly it looked perfect. but the ni saw the front and the front landing gear was pointing up and the engine was about 20 feet from the plane.... but its a pretty easy fix honestly just about 4 points to epoxy and remount the engine! hopefully it'l be ready again soon!

RE: Carl goldberg Eaglet down again
uh lucky I was going on my touch and go and stalled about two feet from the ground and cart wheeled it[] I got out there and the wing almost snapped in half but didn’t thanks to rubberbands. Then the tail was smashed and motor got out of line.

G'day Mate,
Quote, so i applied full up elevator and the plane did almost nothing. End Quote,
That was your first mistake, all it did was slow down even more, & stall, low on airspeed & altitude, & out of ideas. deadly combination.

RE: Carl goldberg Eaglet down again
ya man i know.... I have handled honestly about 30 deadsticks without one mishap. but this time i was over some trees and at the time i was about 5 feet over the trees when it died on me.. so i had no more AIR to gain speed! haha so it was either go into the trees at speed or slow her down a bit and possible float over the trees.. and thats what i did.. thanks though i deffianatly udnerstand what ur saying

Hi chevypower1930
I live just east of you in Wilson. You were up 8 minutes and have many dead stick landings under yout belt. At our field we have many members who always fly till all fuel is used then they land dead stick. I don't care for that type of landing. I consider that a failure on my part. I always want to land with the engine running. This keeps me in full control. I can throttle up as needed to strech the landing or go around if needed. I also like to taxi my plane back to where I am. I keep my flights to about 5-6 minutes and use a timer to keep track.

I think I would be more concerned as to why you have had 30 deadsticks.... on the same trainer I assume... Better get that taken care of first. Do you have to come in over trees on approach? That's a bad place to be during the most critical time of flight, especially with a less than reliable motor. Get her back together and have it again...

RE: Carl goldberg Eaglet down again
ya.... its not just on one trainer though? I have 5 airplanes haha, but this one plane yea its not the most reliable engine, and i still had a few minutes until the gas was out... it went deadstick becuaes of the fact the engine is truly unreliable.. and i wasn't at my field hah i was in hte back of my neighborhood which is a HUGE open area where construction is about to begin...but where i took off yea i had to come in over a few trees, and i didnt think it would die on me as the rest of the flight was flawless and this plane was a carl goldberg 25 so it was my smallest plane which i payed 50 dollars for rtf used haha and i wasn't about to go fly my 500 dollar planes in hte back of my neighborhood (flying field only for these planes)... but yea im about to go ahead and get it fixed up when i get some more epoxy.. VERY EASY FIX.. it was a pretty clean break, so Ill get some pictures of it when its all done

Looks like my planes taking off. Kinda here then there then here again. Then off to the wild blue yonder. Good fix. I have to fix all mine after flying them more than a time or two lol.

ya guys. i do undrestand why NOT to fly there... but its a .25 plane I know these little planes can still be dangerous but i stay over the trees.. so im putting no people or property in danger.. if anything happens, I lose a plane not a life or injure anyone... but ya i understand what yall are saying i am a VERY save flyer and respect everything around me..

uh a car comes by and you clip the car LAWSUIT. you need to learn how to T/O properly. set the nose wheel perfectly straight. and do taxi tests. DO NOT FLY ON THE STREET ITS DANGEROUS IF YOU LOOSE THE RX YOU COULD KILL SOMEONE. EVEN A 25 CAN KILL SOMEONE
