RE: maiden flight
Over the couple of days I have completed the fuselage and replaced the stabilizer and fin. I also reconstructed the door and window. The next step is to install the controls. I also have to complete the access door to the servos that I have placed in upside down for easy accesses. I was planning to put a Super Tiger 75..o have a OS 91 four stroke.

RE: maiden flight
Lateral balance is important but not all that critical unless you really did something to overweight one side of the aircraft. In most cases your plane will not track well through loops and other manuvers because you've trimmed the ailerons to compensate. Avoid using the ailerons until you have gained airspeed and correct rolling with the rudder. Many pilots never learned to use their rudder correctly and many planes need cordinated rudder/ailerons in turns. Yea, I've totaled a couple on maidens and balancing on your fingers is ok for park flyers only. Get or build a cg machine.

This is the first time I've seen this thread I think. Interesting history you have with this plane. I do not believe you could give up on it if you wanted to. Best of luck completeing it. Your rebuild looks good. It should be a good flyer.

RE: maiden flight
I am flying a GP 1/5 scale Cub that I had some problems with to start with...I crashed mine on take off twice in a row.. I had to learn how to take off to begin with..They are different than many other planes, you cant force them..You need to let them get their speed up and then pull them off the ground when they are ready to fly . If you bring them off to soon they will become very difficult to control espially if you are not used to using your rudder..But first off you might be better off to let a more experienced Cub flyer maiden her to trim her out so that she wont be such a hand full when she's airborne...Plus if you have a computer radio it helps to mix some rudder in with the ailerons..I know we need to learn to use our left thumb but just to start with till you get used to flying her it might be easier...I am really enjoying my Cub now and feel like I have become a better pilot because of my effort and the help of my friends.. Make sure your wheels are both rolling free and straight, recheck your balance , and take off straight into the wind...let your speed come up...Good luck... Ultra sport brotherhood #100 bikerbc

RE: maiden flight
Well I have done a little more to this plane. I have tinted the top canopy of the green house, also have made antennas and mounted on them the wings. I have cut a few stripping for the canopy know I am just waiting for the micro screws to show up, I also have to get another sheet for the front canopy I’ve had a lot of bad luck cutting the shape to fit around the of the frame.

Just a suggestion........use poster board to make a pattern for your windows. When you can get it to fit right transfer the results to the windshield material...
