Default Vmar texan+ EZ cherokee

I have decided to fix my texan from vmar and my cherokee from ez.
The ez cherokee is one of the first arfs that were available, so I just have to get it on its wings again!
Anyone that knows anything about this plane?
Will add pics later!

well not sure about the ez but the vmar all i can do is wish you good luck as if it is bad damage then the plane is going to be a right old sod to repair, iv had 2 vmar kitsmy first was the aero 40 trainer over 10 years back the second was the vmar spit about 3 years back, both looked good till the covering was removed, the stuff they make them out of dosnt look nor feel like balsa, its so brittle to work with too as its that dry, lets see some pics when you get the chance

I agree. The wood they use is definately not balsa. Breaks very easy and is quite heavy.
Here is some pics.

Well my dad was alive back when i had the aero 40 trainer from vmar and he inspected it and said to me it isnt balsa its more like obechi thats been compressed and kiln dried so it becomes stiff and lite. which in some countries they use that same method for making big crates for fruit and veg to sit in. damage looks like it can easily be repaired, though good luck with the sheeting on the wing.

Started on the rebuild today.
I`m ripping of the covering, or should I say tape? The covering is so bad that you wouldnt believe it!

Here is a few pics of the cherokee. A very nice little plane powered by a 25 os engine.
It is covered in depron which was standard on the ez models.
Should be an easy fix. Damage in the rear section is the worst place an airplane can be damaged, but I think it will turn out ok

is it me or are both planes damaged due to cartwheeling, as both planes have damage what is normaly caused by a cartwheel.
i used to have the black hoarse su31 and that was evil for trying to drop a wing at point of landing even when i was coming in fast it hated to land.

I have no idea! I bought those planes as they are on the pics, well I got them for free actually
I had a VQ at 6 texan that I crashed on the maiden flight and it was pretty much a wreck. But I rebuilt it and it flew much better then before the crash!
When I rebuild and repair airplanes they allways turns out much lighter then before they crashed!

Got some more work done today But I have to say that the covering is really hard to peel off.
The wood is very brittle, and there is allmost no glue used on the vmar planes! I cant wait to fly this thing, but I need a canopy as the original is crushed.
Anybody who knows where I can by one?
