When you guys do a major repair like this, do you just glue the pieces back together or do you reinforce each area of damage a well? I'm just leary of gluing all the pieces back together, especially if they had glue on them in the first place. How do you guys do it? StikDude

Can't speak for the others, it depends whats broken what you are trying to repair. You can piece things back together and use them for patterns for new ones. Structual members like formers are better being replaced.
You are always concerned about extra weight, so its a fine balance between strengh and weight. You find a lot of ARF's are very light around the wing sadle, so I will double this up with say a 3mm ply.The added weight as to a snapped plane seems a good trade. Hope this helps........cheers

I've had a couple of doozys. I try to start from good, straight, sound material. For your project there, it appears that you have assembled the puzzle for the fuse pretty well up to a solid former. Start there and build new structure, then add sheeting over top. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7164146/tm.htm . Here you will see some examples of how I replaced broken pieces and also joined together big chunks, the wing centre section...

Its still at the stage of the last pictures. I have yet to build the turtle deck but perhaps I'll get to it a bit this weekend. Beginning of the weekend looks kinda crappy weather wise so maybe some building then fly on Monday again....

Murdoc sorry to see a good plane damaged, Sorry it took me too long to reply, but working on another plane repair. A club member flew his bird right in the Mountan. It is worst shape than your At-6, and yes it is worth repairing,  I like fixing them better than new and stronger,, Happy building.

The british commenwealth considered them the Harvard, thus in Canada this was our WWII trainer. In the states it is the A6-Texan.

That is the difference, and a few external and internal differeances, like comparing a ford focus LS against a ford focus LST in my humble opionion. I will be corrected as we do have members that know more about these birds than I do.
